The Souqs
Balad is a fine collection of and the most original of main traditional souqs, covered in greater detail in section on 'Old Jeddah'. To go either on a weekday morning or on a Thursday night is to see two entirely different places. Although people do shop on a Thursday evening, it is better to just soak up the atmosphere, the sights, sound and smell that combine to make a perfume that has haunted souks from Thousand of year.

Mahmal, pictures of shopping center we visited.
About three days before Eid Fitr 1429, we went to cafe in Mahmal shopping center level 7 , and ordered some drinks. While the drink is good, I can't give this place any better than 2 star**, wew! The service is not good at all. The interior sucks. We also ordered the traditional Arab water pipe, Shisha, but, actually it is called 'Ma'assil'. Hmmm, and yeah this place is so noisy! This is the view from the inside the Cafe, we could see almost the entire Balad shopping center from up here.
